My parents married on April 1. No, that is not a joke. Last Monday, it was already 35 years ago that they got married, enough reason to celebrate!
So together with my parents and my sister we went to the The Hague Tower for a delicious lunch. Now I bet a lot of folks from the Hague will wonder, “which tower?” That is because it is better known as Het Strijkijzer (The Iron), because of its distinguished look.
Going to the restaurant on the 42nd floor had been on our wishlist for quite a while. Many years ago (about 18 years), we went to a Chinese restaurant which was on the top floor of one of the tallest buildings of the city. You can spot the tower on the panorama on the right, it’s the white circular building with the blue top. So when they completed this new skyscraper in August 2007, we decided we would go to this top floor restaurant as well someday.
Now we sure took our time, but this sunny day gave us a marvelous view of the city and the slowly developing skyline.
